I remember listening to this at about 12 years old and just crying as the score builds. So unbelievably powerful.

Always gives me chills. John Williams really captured the emotion of that terrible choice with those strings. Really evocative of the imagery of falling miles into a deep, dark void.

Fun fact: Panaka's name never appeared in any dialogue in the script but the actor (Hugh Quarshie) found a way to ad-lib it into the film (when he answers his comm-link he says "Panaka"). Panaka's first name in supplemental materials is given as Quarsh, named for his actor

(Luke races off leaving Obi-Wan, 3PO and R2 alone with the burning Sandcrawler) (Luke jumps in his Landspeeder and drives, Luke races across Jundland Wastes in his battered Landspeeder) (Luke brakes his Landspeeder and he saws the burning homestead and it looks as if a great battle has taken place) (Luke jumps out his Landspeeder and looking for his aunt and uncle) Luke: Uncle Owen! Aunt Beru? Uncle Owen... (Suddenly debris is scattered everywhere in the homestead garage and Luke saws the burned and smoking skeletons laying on the ground) Poor Luke :(
